Honduras
Rev. Bob Wood Ministries

God called Bob Wood, Jr. into the mission field 16 years ago. Bob and his wife Rosa live in the small community of El Pino outside of La Cieba, Honduras.
Bob preaches and teaches in the Grace Methodist Church he founded in 2019 in El Pino. He also manages a feeding program that helps the families in this very poor community.
Bob and Rosa opened the successful
El Pino Bilinual School in August 2016. The school is free to the majority of the 65 children attending and others pay a a moderate tuition. Students also recieve free healthcare.
Cuba

Dunnellon FMC entered into a "Sister Church" relationship with Mount Zion Methodist Church, Cieneguita, Cuba in March 2016. Under the direction of Pastor Yabay Alvarez and District Superintendent Pastor Isaac Cuany, they have seen the growth of the congregation grow from 30 to 65 members.
The original dilapidated church structure has been replace with a beautiful new church in 2020. A mission team plans to visit our sister church, when COVID restrictions are lifted, to carry construction funds, clothing and over-the-counter medictions.

Zoe Project

ZOE (Zimbabwe Orphans Endeavor) empowers orphans and vulnerable children in Africa. Founded in 2004, this is a relief program for orphans resulting from the AIDS crisis in Africa. By 2007 Zoe has evolved into a highly successful empowerment program, helping over 100,000 African orphans to become self-sufficient. It's misson is in the training of orphans to become completely self-sufficient and able to care for their siblings within three years.
The groups learn to farm during the planting season, and are given small grants to rent property, they are not given hand-outs. The kids are also trained in areas of Health and Hygiene, Education, Income Generation, Child Rights, Community Connections and Spiritual Strength. Income generation skills include beauty, barber, tailoring, electrical, plumbing and a variety of of others. They decide which businesses they want to start and are given small grants to do it and are responsible for keeping their own accounts. They help each other.
Heifer Project

The Heifer Project is a world-wide ministry providing funds to assist the needy in establishing vegetable gardens and by providing poultry, milk cows, pigs, etc. The recipients learn to grow their own crops, raise and breed their animals and are able to provide food for their families for generations to come.

Regional Drop-off

The power of a simple gift! "A box of Christmas joy for children all over the world." Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children with the Good News of Jesus Christ. These simple gifts are shipped outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S.
UMCOR

UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) is an UM organization that supports humanitarian aid worldwide when there is a disaster like an earthquake, flood, drought, etc. We give financial support to UMCOR throughout the year when there are appeals to provide aid for a particular devastating disaster.
